J. Gonzalez-Blitz is a multi-disciplined artist who creates paintings, drawings, comics and illustrations. She makes music as a vocalist and by creating experimental soundscapes electronically. She is trying to teach herself violin. She practices butoh and incorporates it into her performances. J. was born in Hell's Kitchen, NYC to Cuban and Irish parents who grew up on the same block. Diagnosed with schizo-affective disorder, she says it's her drummer husband, rats, knives, Bustelo and Malta that keep her fired up to fight.

Polemic is funded in part by the New York State Council on the Arts and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs
