Separation Anxiety, 2020, 12 x 8", colored pencil on paper.

Separation Anxiety, 2020 was completed in late March during the start of the Covid-19 lock down. My son was in California, and the stress of him being across the country, his eventual return and quarantine within our own home was palpable. My husband had bought me a beautiful set of colored pencils for Christmas and I started doing daily drawings on the handmade paper I bought on a trip to London in October. I had gone for a long art weekend with six other New York City women artists, so the paper holds special meaning for me during this time away from friends, especially with the unknown time period before we can ever hope to travel again.
