I am a Canadian artist working in the South Bronx focused on architecturally based abstractions in works on paper as well as canvas. "Connect" is an Indigo Ink* drawing that I made during the first weeks of the COVID isolation. I worked on this piece for over a month during the early morning hours before moving onto supporting my eleven year old son's online schooling. "Connect" refers to the notion that the forms and shapes we perceive often result from thousands of bits of information, in this case stipple dots. I see the world both as a place in which we are simultaneously isolated and connected to everything else - a phenomenon that is greatly heightened during COVID.
