Before Black Lives Matter re-emerged into a global view with explosive, passionate and determined energy, isolation as a result of COVID - 19, really made me question who I made art for. As an artist whose core values and purpose lies in creating content around social and cultural concepts and themes, the private space has rarely ever been a source of inspiration for me. However, not being able to leave my home & finding anxiety and trauma within the online world, I needed to find drive somewhere else. My private space became that for me. It allowed me to experiment with mediums (collage being this freeing tactile entity), and create images so rooted in my personal surrounding that I had not done before.
